Orlando - - Tonight the Judges of the Ninth Judicial Circuit will hold an African-American Judicial Town Hall in honor of Black History Month. Over 50 Judges and court staff are expected to be on hand to meet with citizens, answer questions and learn some of the perceptions of our judicial system within the Black Community.

The event will begin with a panel discussion that will include Chief Judge Belvin Perry, Jr., Circuit Judge Gail A. Adams, Circuit Judge Theotis Bronson, County Judge Leon B. Cheek III, Circuit Judge Jay P. Cohen, Circuit Judge Cynthia Z. Mackinnon, Circuit Judge Bob Wattles and Circuit Judge Reginald Whitehead.

Following the panel discussion, citizens will have an opportunity to speak directly with Judges during a “meet & greet” session. There will also be a “get to know you legal community” fair with booths sponsored by organizations such as Legal Aid, Family Court Services, Harbor House and the Public Defender’s Office to name a few.

The Town Hall is designed to provide a forum for Judges and members of the African-American Community to come together to discuss issues and concerns of our judicial system. The event will be at Saint Mark A.M.E. Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando, tonight at 6:00 p.m.

The event is FREE and open to the public. Media are welcome and encouraged to attend.
