DCF Names New Osceola County POA
Lorita Shirley is the new Program Operations Administrator.  She graduated from Florida State University with a masters in social work.  She has been working with the Department since 1993 as a foster care counselor, protective investigator, supervisor for investigations and protective services and as a district trainer.  Recently, Lorita was a job coach for the Professional Developmental Center through the University of South Florida.  Lorita was the 1998 District Employee of the Year.  The Program welcomes Lorita and looks forward to working with her. 

Dependency Statutes -  CHAPTER 39
If you did not attend the in-service training regarding the changes in Chapter 39 of the Florida Statutes, please contact your coordinator.  There were significant changes that became effective October 1, 1998.  You can attend the next pre-service training for new volunteers for the update.

Osceola County Begins Phase 1 for Courthouse
The county is currently in the process of creating the parking lot for employees and visitors.  Upon completion, construction of the Courthouse will begin on the current parking lot on West Bryan Street.  The new six story Courthouse is scheduled to be completed by the year 2001.
