Volunteers Needed for Mediation Day at the Schools on November 5th

This year for Mediation Day we are going to send groups of mediators to the various Orange County Schools to explain mediation and provide a small demonstration if possible. Please call me as soon as possible if you would be willing to do so with a few other mediators to your nearest high school or junior high.

Christmas Luncheon November 30th

Don’t forget the Christmas Luncheon is on Tuesday, November 30th at 11:45am. I am assuming everyone is coming. If not, let me know as soon as possible.

Handicap Signs

Is there anyone who needs a handicap sign for their car? If you do not have a sign or if you don’t use it, they will ticket your car after three hours and we cannot get the ticket waived.

Recertifications

When it is time to be recertified, please send the $15.00 to Tallahassee with the paperwork. Give me a copy of the application and the check you sent and we will reimburse you. It takes several months.

No Continuations

Please don’t continue cases to October 27th or 28th, November 11th (a holiday), November 24 (Thanksgiving), November 30th the day of our luncheon) or December 7th (the VOM training day).  Keep these dates handy for future referral.

Law Interns

We appreciate your continued assistance with our law interns (Jeff, Jane, Robin, Joel, and Arve. They are not paid for their time here, and we really appreciate their help around the office as well as their ability to do mediations when needed.

"The Move"

I know it has been difficult getting used to the new procedures and ways of doing things, but we are gradually settling into our new offices. The many advantages include doubling our space, adding two mediation rooms, providing a much more organized check-in area and WINDOWS. We have re-adjusted several times, and may have to make more adjustments as we determine the flow of everything. We will try several different waiting areas and vote on the most convenient. Please bear with us until we all get used to the new way.
  1. Bring Genie your name plates with your completed case files.
  2. Cases going to trials will go outside the waiting room on the small table.
  3. Coffee should be available in the new break room and outside the old break room.
  4. Your folders and mail slots will eventually be in the same room that you wait in.
  5. The stamp for your parking tickets will be up by the check-in window.
  6. We will eventually have two copy machines but will have to make do with one for now.

Stat Sheets

Please remember to circle the type of case and include only the attorneys name if he/she attended the mediation.
