AUGUST 17-19TH    DRC TRAINING CONFERENCE IN ORLANDO. We must have everyone=s form submitted no later than July 8 if you wish to attend.

NEW TRAINEES

 

 On May 19th we held AWho Wants to be a Mediator@ Day at the Courthouse.  Applicants were tested, lectured and interviewed.  We selected 6 to become mediators.  (Judge Cohen helped interview).  The training will be held on June 15, 16, and 17 in Osceola and Orange Counties.  Thirty-four new mediators from throughout the state will attend, we will be hosting.  We appreciate the 11 mediators who have agreed to critique and we hope you will all welcome our new mediators.

 

NEW BINS

 

Most of you have seen the new bins in the waiting room.  We are waiting for the other one.  I know some of you don=t have a bin yet (we did it alphabetically) and some of you have bottom bins.  When the new bin comes, we will move the bottom people up, and everyone should have their own. We put your memos etc. in there, so.........

As you all know, the new rules require 16 continuing mediator education credits for each two year period.  In the past, we have provided each of you your classes informally.  Now that it is a requirement, please keep your reporting form up to date at all times.  Reporting Forms are available in the waiting room and each of you will be sent one when you get recertified.  If you can=t find one, ask me.

 

OBSERVATIONS

 

Some of you have not completed your required 4 observations, or you have not turned in your forms.  All observations should be completed by August 1st.

We have received email addresses for 21 mediators!  I know there were a few more who were supposed to send it to me. If you haven=t done so, please do it now.  Email it to me or give it to me at work.  I will send you updates whenever possible.
