OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO ELLIOT ON THE LOSS OF HIS WIFE AND OUR FORMER MEDIATOR, ARLINE, WHO PASSED AWAY ON JANUARY 23RD. Elliot requested that anyone wishing to make donations, send them to the American Cancer Society in her name. Arline was trained in 1998 and provided many volunteer hours both mediating and critiquing. We will miss her.

GOODBYE AND GOOD LUCK TO BO who is retiring from staff mediation. His going away party will be on February 16th at 11:30 in the Jury Room. Tickets for the lunch and entertainment are available from Linda and Jan. Although he will no longer be an employee, in the future he will be a contract mediator on Thursdays. We all wish him well in his new venture.
TRAVELING MEDIATORS
On January 26, Bob L. will be escorting our first group of traveling mediators to Gainesville. (Remember we are going to do an exchange program hopefully throughout the state. We have already hosted Gainesville . We hope all of you will volunteer for one trip to see how other mediators and other counties hold mediations. We hope to learn from all. Please let us know if you are interested in traveling to locations with a group.
WE RECEIVED DISNEY TICKETS after the Christmas Luncheon so we will be drawing names from all the volunteers and giving the tickets away.
FYI: JUVENILE COMMUNITY MEDIATION
We are actively developing our new community mediation program with the first area, Apopka, ready to get off the ground. Trainings for the new mediators are scheduled for February 3, 8 and 15.
2001 DATES TO REMEMBER
FEBRUARY 13, 2001 AT NOON - -NEXT MEETING OF THE CENTRAL FLORIDA MEDIATORS ASSOCIATION IN ROOM 7. Our last meeting included a round table with the new judges, new clerk and court administration. A question and answer session following the lunch was well received.
FEBRUARY 22, 2001 AT NOON - RSVP FASHION SHOW DOWNTOWN- John O’Connor from Channel 2, Dave H, Bob L and Ele K will model. Contact Kathy if you would like to attend.
MARCH 2 and 3 FAPM TRAINING AT THE ROSEN (FORMERLY CLARION)

MARCH 9, 2001 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TRAINING
On January 22, 2001 Harbour House conducted a domestic violence training. It was so well received that we have requested a repeat of the same training for those who missed it. Even in County Civil court we see domestic violence, and we recommend that each of you be aware of how to deal with it. Anyone interested in attending is invited to join us on March 9th from 8:30am to noon. Please let Amy know if you will be attending (836-2296).
