Congratulations

CHARLES K WHO WAS ELECTED AS OUR NEW VOLUNTEER REPRESENTATIVE FOR 2000. WE THANK BILL D. FOR THE WONDERFUL JOB HE DID.

Goodluck and Goodbye

CARMEN WHO WILL NOW BE WORKING WITH THE VICTIMS PROGRAM AND DOING VICTIM OFFENDER MEDIATION THERE. SHE WILL STILL BE HERE ON THURSDAY MORNINGS AS A VOLUNTEER AND WILL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH OUR UNIT. SHE DID A GREAT JOB SETTING UP OUR ADULT RESTITUTION PROGRAM AND ASSISTING IN THE MEDIATION UNIT.

A Special Thanks To Justice Fred Lewis

For attending our luncheon. What an inspirational speech he gave! We are glad almost all the mediators were there to enjoy the great food, good company and pleasant surroundings.

Biographies Needed

We need biographies on everyone who started mediating after 97. Please start putting it together now. We will be handing out forms before the training. Also, I would appreciate it if all mediators would provide us with the name of their nearest relative for emergencies.

Juvenile Restitution

Dates for the Next Three Months:
  • January 11, 2000
  • February 1,  2000
  • February 22, 2000
  • March 14, 2000

We must have the Joint and Several Form for ALL cases where there is more than one defendant. Please come see me if you have any problems. Ask at the beginning of each case if there was more than one defendant.

Notes For Mediators

  • Cases to set trials should be placed outside your mediator waiting room. The parties should wait out in the general area where they first waited to be called. You don’t need to find someone, unless you notice that it has been there for awhile. You will still need to bring your name plate to Genie to let her know you are ready for a new case.
  • If the case is settled or continued, the file goes in the bin next to Genie.
  • When we hire Carmen’s replacement, he/she will be doing most of the trial setting.

Dates To Remember
