Jury
Management Application
Status - first
version is installed.
This application is a canned program, written by a company called CSI. The database
resides in Microsoft SQL. They are currently rewriting the client end of the
application as a GUI browser based application.
Teen
Court Application
Status - installed
in 1998.
This application was written in-house in VB and uses Microsoft SQL as the database.
The program allows our Teen Court division to track all teens who participate
in our Juvenile Teen Court program. (This software belongs to the court and
is available to other Fl Circuits.)
Interpreter
Tracking Application

This application was written in-house in VB and uses Microsoft SQL as the database.
The application allows our interpreter office to track interpreter's hours and
fees, and provides monthly, and yearly reports.(This software belongs to the
court and is available to other Fl Circuits.)
Family
Court Application
Status
- installed in 1994, Rewritten and installed 1999
This program was initially written in Progress and read data off our clerk's
CISAM files. The program was retired due to the fact that the clerk has migrated
it's data to Informix, which Progress can not access. The Ninth's Technology
Services department rewrote the application in Visual Basic, suing SQL 7.0 database.
Visitation
Tracking Application
Status
- being reviewed.
This application is one of several modules the court has contracted out that
will run off the court's Intranet. Each of these modules will have browser based
clients and use HTML, Active Sever pages, JAVA, and Microsoft SQL. This module
will allow the Court's Visitation Tracking program to monitor parents who participate
in the program, as well as child exchange information, and an archive history
of participants. (The ability to share this software with other circuits is
currently being determined.)
Mediation
Application
Status
- being reviewed. Should be installed by 2/1/2002.
This program allows the Court's Mediation Department to track all parties who
participate in the mediation process, create letters, and provide the court
with timely reports. The Ninth is currently reviewing software other courts
are using, rather than writing the application.
Human
Resource Application
Status
- Installed 2000.
This application was initially written in Access and resided on both of the
Human Resource departments PCs. The program is being rewritten in VB and uses
Microsoft SQL as the database. The application will allow the Human Resource
department to maintain employee information as well as a photo ID. An interface
is being designed that allows a new employee to sit down in front of a PC and
fill out new hire forms online. The information immediately populates the database
and the forms can be printed immediately. A browser based client module is also
being considered, which will allow employees to update their personal information,
such as their new office, phone, home address, car license, building access
cards, etc. (The ability to share this software with other circuits is currently
being determined.)
Jury
Instructions Application
Status
- written for State wide access on the Internet. Installed by 11/5/99.
The court had great success with automating the method in which Jury Instruction
were selected, assembled, and edited, that the decision was made to mimic the
WordPerfect Macro, and write an application that can be used by all Florida
Circuits. The program allows any circuit to select their circuit number, assemble
both civil and criminal instructions, and open them for editing using either
WordPerfect format, or MS Word format. (This application will be fully
shareable over the internet.)
Pro
Se Divorce Application
Status
- being considered. No target date available.
This application is one of several modules the court has contracted out that
will run off the court's Internet. This application will use HTML, Active Sever
pages, and static forms. One of the other circuits in Florida did a wonderful
job creating an internet application that allows the public to take a short
quiz to see if they qualify for a Pro Se Divorce. If they do, the forms are
automatically generated and can be downloaded. The court would like to mimic
this process and make the application available on a state level. (This application
will be fully shareable over the internet.)
Purchasing
and PC Inventory Application
Status
- Installed in 1999.
The court purchased an off the shelf application called "Track It"
by Blue Ocean Software.
The application allows our purchasing department to create, track, all purchase
requests and purchase orders, as well as run reports. The application also has
dynamic modules that allows the MIS department to inventory all of the court's
PCs. (This application can be purchased from Blue Ocean Software).
PayUp
Juvenile Application
Status - Written
and Installed in 1999
The Juvenile Court's PayUp program tracks the restitution payments
and work programs of Juvenile offenders, allowing compensation for their victims
for losses suffered as the result of a juvenile crime. The application was written
as a browser based program by a local company called Logicon. The application
was written in Cold Fusion and runs on the courts IIS intranet sever.
It use SQL 7 as the database.
Domestic
Injunction Application
Status
- Installed 10/1/2001
This database provides Osceola's Domestic Division the ability to enter
and track parties who seek injunctions. The database also allows for the
immediate printing of all types of injunctions.
Each of these modules will have browser based clients and use HTML, Active Sever
pages, JAVA, and Microsoft SQL.
