Support to the Hearing Officer by providing case management and coordination of truancy cases.  The position is responsible for assisting students and families to make the best use of available opportunities and resources to reduce truancy.  This position will conduct family interviews, home and school visits, obtain school records and make referrals and act as the community liaison for the truancy program.  Duties also include preparing narratives, statistical reports, documents and correspondence.  Strong interpersonal and computer skills, ability to organize work, keep records and monitor compliance.  Ability to handle stress and emotionally upset individuals.  Bi-lingual in Spanish and/or Creole preferred.  Two years of professional social work experience or two years performing duties equivalent to social service work or a combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment requirements listed above.  Orange County funded with excellent benefits.  F/T, $14.97/hr. some evening hours required.
